5 Funny Commercials That Gave Us The Perfect Dose of Laughter

Hello everyone, we are back with yet another segment of #FunnyFridays where we bring to you some of the funniest commercials in the world. Humor has been a tried and tested method of driving audience engagement and many brands have leveraged it perfectly to their benefit.


So, here are 5 such funny ads that we hope would make you LOL as hard as we did while compiling this list.


1. PooPourri: Before-You-Go Toilet Spray

This ad from PooPourri is funny and clever at the same time. It made me wonder how I survived all these years without PooPourri. The reason why this ad is so wonderful is that any conversation around poop is always going to be funny.



Let’s face it- it’s not every day that we come across an ad about fecal matter. Discussions around bowel movements are reserved wholly for the elderly or with your gastroenterologist. Throwing it all out in the open is extreme and we just couldn’t look away. And on top of it, they made it sound like it was something really important.


I think I’ll order one. No, not for me, but for my wife! Phew!


2. Mooncup: Tampon vs Mooncup Rap Battle

Here’s another commercial with a bathroom theme. This ad from Mooncup details the advantages of using a menstrual cup instead of tampons. Sorry guys, but denial isn’t going to protect you!



The ad features a mini rap battle that is funny and irresistible. With both menstrual cups and tampons trying to one-up each other, the rap comes up with some amazingly funny and witty lines. While even a whisper of a woman’s bodily functions is considered taboo, this rap song makes even a serious topic seem light-hearted.


3. Adobe: Click, Baby, Click

In this witty commercial from Adobe, a company that sells encyclopedias sees a dramatic rise in the number of clicks on an online banner. This surge leads to a series of rash business decisions. And that too when the source of the clicks is not what they are expecting it to be!



The commercial serves as a good source of hearty laughter and offers a great lesson on why companies need to start taking analytics seriously. But all that I can think of is what are they going to do with those encyclopedias.


4. Amazon Alexa: “Not Everything Makes The Cut”

This 2019 Super Bowl commercial from Amazon features a bunch of people using Alexa with gadgets that couldn’t make the final cut.



While integrating Alexa in a toothbrush muddles the podcast, the Alexa dod collar falls prey to the dog abusing it for ordering gravy and sausages. The Jet stream fail and the “incident” that led to a major power outage on earth turned out to be the final nail in the coffin of Alexa’s prospects of being used in these devices.


What makes this ad so awesome is that while this ad is hilarious, it shows Amazon as being self-aware of Alexa’s limitations and understanding that it doesn’t belong in just about everything.


5. Old Spice: Get Shaved in the Head

After Neal Bledsoe got his balls eaten by aquatic creatures, Terry Crews cemented himself as the face of Old Spice for nearly a decade. During this period, he won our hearts through several hilarious video ads like this one.



The ads were hilarious and memorable for the funny and bizarre situations that Terry often found himself in. Also, his loud and energetic delivery is something that can either tickle your funny bones or annoy you right away- there’s no in-between. Fortunately, it was the former for most of his viewers.


Wait a minute, is this where he also found inspiration for his role in the American sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine? You can’t miss the similarity!
