So, here are 5 feel-good Christmas 2024 commercials that will brighten your day.

1. John Lewis: The Gifting Hour

British department store chain John Lewis released a wonderful 2-minute spot this Christmas that revolves around two sisters and packs an emotional punch.

The ad shows a young girl Sally rushing to the John Lewis store at closing time to find the right gift for her sister. Rummaging through a rack of dresses, she enters a fantastical world, leading her to a whimsical journey through her memories with her sister, as she fanatically searches for the perfect present against the clock.

After finding the ultimate gift for her sister and coming back to reality, she returns to the store and heads outside where she has a special moment with her sister. As they walk away, we see her sister reflected in the John Lewis window as the child from her memories.

2. Amazon: Midnight Opus

Small acts of kindness take center stage in this beautiful 90-second Amazon ad, setting the tone for this festive season.

The ad opens with a janitor working and humming a tune as he goes about his business at the Grand Sonnet Theatre. A photograph in his locker gives the viewers a glimpse of his lifelong yet unfulfilled passion for performing on stage. When some of his colleagues overhear his lovely voice echoing through the empty theatre, they arrange for a surprise performance, transforming the theatre into a stage with lights and decorations. The cherry on the top? A black tuxedo jacket ordered from Amazon!

We then go on to see our hero taking on the stage after being egged on by his colleagues and performing the timeless 1965 song  “What the World Needs Now Is Love” by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.

Who needs a Santa when you have colleagues as amazing as these!

3. BMW: The Gift

Some bonds are special despite massive age gaps, like the one shared with our grandparents. While we already saw one such connection between Gary and his grandmother in our blog on the most heartwarming Christmas 2024 Commercials this BMW advert showcases another one shared between Tim and his granny.

The ad follows a seven-year-old boy named Tim embarking on a quest to find the perfect Christmas gift for his grandmother. After deciding to go against the traditional Christmas gift ideas, the young lad decides to get a BMW Junior Seat in a store window, which he believes will allow them to share memorable drives in her classic BMW 1500.

And boy, they go on drives with a swag! Watch the lovely 100-second spot that will warm your heart in no time.

4. Etsy: Waldo Anthem

Online marketplace Etsy released a heartwarming 1-minute Christmas 2024 ad that brought the beloved children's book character Waldo to life.

The ad addresses a recurring theme in Waldo’s adventures which is about people often enquiring about his whereabouts in the form of "Where's Waldo?", instead of ever asking "Who is Waldo?" The ad follows Waldo navigating his way through the busy streets as onlookers excitedly claim to have found him. However, Waldo still feels overlooked.

Thankfully, an Etsy gift finally helps him feel acknowledged and be truly seen by someone who seems to understand him.

5. Disney: The Boy & The Octopus

If the BMW advert underscored the importance of human connections, this touching Disney ad throws the spotlight on the unexpected friendship formed between a young boy and an octopus.

The ad follows a young boy who encounters an octopus when he goes swimming on the beach. While he’s initially startled by the octopus who comfortably perches itself on his head, he soon adapts to life with his new companion, leading to a series of adventures that include practicing martial arts and exploring a Christmas market together.
