5 Funniest Japanese Commercials That You Should Definitely Watch

Yeah, yeah we know we have already covered Japanese commercials in one of our previous #FunnyFridays segments. But they are hilarious and you can’t just stop after covering 5 ads. There’s a lot more to laugh about in the Japanese advertisement industry.

So, here we are with 5 funny Japanese commercials that will serve you with the perfect dose of laughter just before the weekend kicks in.

1. Instant Ramen: Schoolgirl

How far would you go if someone stole your noodles? I doubt you’ll be able to do the things that the schoolgirl in this commercial did.

While most of us would do either nothing or purchase more noodles, this Japanese schoolgirl went on an adventure across Japan, taking on explosions, sumo wrestlers, zombies, and samurai- all for the taste of her prized noodles.

The things I could do if had even an ounce of that passion (or craze)!

2. Norton Antivirus: Funny Japanese Girls

This Norton antivirus commercial beautifully captures Japanese art, music, fashion, and culture. Also, it is very enticing to people who’d like to keep their information a secret, including criminals!

The commercial features a man in an Assassin Creed’s outfit acting like malware and trying to get into people’s computers and hack data. Six cute Japanese girls demonstrate the six different versions of the antivirus. And the specialty of each of those versions will probably make you wonder if the antivirus is more dangerous than the hackers!

3. Gongon Siritonakatta: Washing Powder Song

How can you make a commercial on washing powder interesting? Well, this commercial provides us with a sure-shot method.

Come up with a cute and catchy song and bring onboard two identical Japanese girls that you can’t tell one from the other to sing the song. Interesting enough? Wait, there’s more! Also, throw in a man who can shout once in a while to some background music to the song. You now have a really interesting (or funny) washing powder commercial at your hands. Mission accomplished!

4. Amino Supil: Ordinary Power Rangers

Have you ever wondered if the Power Rangers were just as ordinary as us? This commercial would help you come to terms with the normality of these celebrated superheroes.

These superheroes are fat, funny, normal, and stupid if you ask me. But then again superheroes aren’t creatures from outer space; they are from within us. They are nothing but a reflection of the society that we live in. And the society that we live in is filled with ordinary fellows!

5. Gin no Sara: Funny Dance

Gin no Sara has released an array of funny commercials over the years but this one is downright my favorite.

The commercial shows an out-of-shape wannabe dancer giving a shot at a dance audition where the person in charge of choosing the dancers is left unimpressed by others. However, he is all praise for the wannabe’s dance moves. The expressions did it for me, honestly!

However, I’ve no idea how the product could fit in with the content of this commercial.

Wrapping Up

And that was a wrap of yet another segment of #FunnyFridays. Japanese commercials usually consist of out-of-the-box content. And sometimes it’s so out-of-the-box that they are incomprehensible. But as long as they can generate laughs, it’s all cool.

We’ll be back next week with more funny commercials for you. Till then, stay tuned!
