Holi may have come and gone, but if there’s one tradition we take just as seriously as the festival itself, it’s our remarkable ability to publish blogs about it slightly… late🙈 In fact, at this point, delaying our coverage of major events by at least a week has practically become a ritual at ClickInsights– right up there with throwing colours and drenching friends without warning.

That said, good things are worth the wait. Brands once again embraced the playful chaos of the festival to craft advertisements packed with mischief, vibrant storytelling, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. So, in this week’s edition of #FunnyFridays, here we are with 5 funny Holi 2026 commercials that splashed the internet with laughter🎨😄
1. Zepto
As is the case with most Asian parents, Indians also love to see their children adopt their family values. These shared family values are what they often view as the main difference between them and the rest of the world. But what if the rest of the world willingly adopts their practices?
This Zepto advert features a man introducing his girlfriend to his parents during Holi festivities. The boy’s parents, especially his father, are impressed by the girl’s affinity to her ‘Indian roots’ when she bows down and touches their feet– a practice followed in most Indian households to showcase respect towards one’s elders.
However, they’re in for a pleasant surprise when the girl washes the Holi colors off her face, and they discover that she isn’t Indian. The father tries in vain to convince his son and wife that he already knew that, leaving his family, as well as the viewers, laughing out loud😅
2. Ambuja Cement
Adani Group-owned Ambuja Cement has for years projected itself as the best water repellent cement in the Indian market. This Holi, a couple of kids took the brand’s word at face value and decided to give it a shot, but not for construction purposes!
This advert showcases a couple of kids cutting an Ambuja cement bag and turning it into a ‘shield’ to repel colored water. This simple, yet ingenious plan will leave you with a smile.
3. Imperial Blue
Not everyone is as keen on getting their faces colored on Holi and seeks different ways to stay away from the festivities. However, you’re in for tough luck if you have friends who are as mischievous as the ones in this Imperial Blue ad.
The ad opens with a guy avoiding calls from his friends to participate in Holi festivities. However, he immediately springs into action and gets ready for Holi when he hears the voice of a woman wishing him from across the door. But as soon as he opens the door, he finds his friends waiting for him outside with the woman who ‘wished’ him doing so on a video call.
Believe it or not, friends who chase you on Holi have arms just as long as the law– you can’t evade either🤕
4. Flipkart
Running out of Holi ammunition (colors, water balloons, and effective water guns) is the biggest grievance one could have on Holi. Thankfully, Indian Indian e-commerce brand Flipkart was there to save the day with its instant delivery.
The ad showcases a cute, chubby kid being chased by his friends on Holi as they spray him with colors and water balloons. But if any of his friends thought this ‘battle’ was over, they were in for a surprise as the kid returned with a replenished stock of colors and water balloons and took them on single-handedly.
This Hollywood-like battle sequence, albeit with colors and water guns, left everyone amused and grinning🤣
5. Surf Excel
This advert isn’t funny in the conventional sense, but it’s surely one of the best Holi 2026 commercials, which is why I had to include it in this list.
The ad showcases a group of kids celebrating Holi within the premises of a posh and high-end society as a couple of lesser-privileged children look on from outside. Since the society’s guard wouldn’t allow those kids inside, the kids from the society devise a smart plan to bring them inside. The kids quietly leave the society and smear their faces as well as the faces of the kids outside with colors. Due to this, the society guard fails to recognize them and lets everybody inside, including the kids from outside the society.
But what happens when their colors come off due to water, and the guard finds out that they aren’t from the society? Watch the ad to realize the real essence of Holi and why it’s such a leveller.
Wrapping Up
And that’s a wrap of another #FunnyFridays edition. Whether it’s clever pranks, exaggerated festive battles, or wholesome moments of inclusion, Holi continues to inspire campaigns that entertain while capturing the spirit of the occasion. Of course, by the time you will be reading this, most of the colours will have probably been washed away and the water balloons long gone. But good advertising– much like a stubborn splash of gulal– has a way of lingering. And if our track record is anything to go by, you can safely expect us to return next year with another round of Holi ads… fashionably late😛🙈
We’ll be back with more amazing ad campaigns for you. Till then, stay tuned!
