June is celebrated every year globally as Pride Month with the world’s LGBTQ+ communities coming together to celebrate and express themselves. For years, their sexualities and liberties have been suppressed. But thankfully the world is now not only adopting a more tolerant stance towards them but also becoming more understanding of their needs and emotions. The advertising world has turned out to be a major ally of the queer community in this journey as ads give them a voice, which they have lacked for a better part of their history.

Throughout June, we kept an eye on brands that launched ad campaigns, which not only gave space to the queer community but also inspired hope for them. So, in our first blog of the #PrideMonth series, here we are with 5 award-worthy Pride Month 2025 commercials that inspired hope for a better tomorrow.
1. Converse: With Pride
American footwear brand Converse has continued with its eleventh annual Proud to Be ad campaign this Pride Month.
The 30-second spot showcases members of the queer community with messages for their future selves, urging them to continue embracing themselves and be what they are. In a world where they are often persecuted for merely existing, this bold advert shows the LGBTQ people advocating for a world where they no longer have to continually justify their existence.
While I am not sure if and when such a world would be possible, let’s all raise a toast to hope🥂
2. Oslo Pride: TRYGG
What do you think the rainbow colors mean to the LGBTQ+ community? If you think it means supporting them, well, there’s much more to it!
It means that there’s room for members of the queer community and they can be themselves. It indicates that they are safe and their safety will be ensured by people around them. And that’s exactly why Pride organizers in Oslo, Norway put together this moving film, titled TRYGG, which means “safe”.
As I said above, the rainbow colors aren’t merely a decoration for the LGBTQ+– it means that they belong where they are!
3. Seattle Mariners: Baseball Is For Everyone
Every piece of thread on a baseball can play a key role in its journey through the air. Similarly, the smallest of the milestones for the LGBTQ+ community can pave the way for their future successes.
This lovely 100-second advert by the Major League Baseball (MLB) team Seattle Mariners not only pays tribute to every LGTBQ+ player in minor leagues and executives in front offices but also stresses the need for sustained efforts. Because there’s much work left to do. For instance, we have yet to see an out-and-out LGBTQ+ player in any major league.
Until that happens, let’s just keep working to that end, shall we?
4. Tel Aviv: Pride Parade in the Middle East
Israel has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately! But regardless of which side of the political divide you find yourself in, the truth is that it is the only queer-friendly country in all of the Middle East.
This advert begins with AI-generated videos of queer marches happening all across the Middle East from Damascus and Baghdad to Tehran. But just when we start wondering about the possibility of such marches in these places, we are brought back to reality with real-life videos of queer parades and marches in Tel Aviv, which remains the only LGBTQ+-friendly city across the Middle East.
Israel has often been accused of "pinkwashing", using LGBTQ+ rights as a façade to divert attention from issues like occupation and violence in Gaza/West Bank. And while its aggressions and human rights violations in Gaza and the West Bank have surely given human rights watchdogs many sleepless nights, Israel will surely find itself off the hook for any charges of LGBTQ+ persecution.
5. Channel 4: Sorry, Not Sorry!
Do you think that diversity, equity, and inclusion may have gone far, far too far? Well, British public-service television broadcaster Channel 4 says sorry because they are not sorry!
Fronted by newsreader and journalist Phil Gayle, this bold and wildly unapologetic advert highlights the very purpose of its existence– to create change! Challenging with intent, representing unheard voices, and reinventing entertainment– that’s what Channel 4 is all about.
And if that’s not up to your taste, then sorry, they aren’t sorry!
Wrapping Up
And that’s a wrap of the first blog of our #PrideMonth series. As stated above, these Pride Month 2025 commercials stood out for their recurring themes of hope and change. In these turbulent times, when the world is often polarized to the extremities, hope is what often keeps the members of the queer community going. And these adverts had that in plenty!
We’ll be back with more awesome adverts for you. Till then, stay tuned!
