5 Hilarious FIFA World Cup 2026 Ads That Still Deserve a Watch Two Months After the Final 🤪

Yeah, I know what you folks are thinking. Why a FIFA World Cup 2026 blog almost two months after the final? You see, I had already zeroed in on these commercials while researching this year's World Cup ads. And somehow, as tends to happen, this blog got delayed and then kept getting pushed back week after week to make room for some of the other wholesome content that you might have come across on our platform. As much as I hate it, our #FunnyFridays blogs often have to make way for more important content. Thankfully, not this week.

Considering my unwavering commitment to bringing the most exceptional marketing campaigns to you and taking into account (just a wee bit) the hours I spent looking for these ads online, I decided to present them to you in our latest #FunnyFridays segment. So, here we are with 5 hilarious FIFA World Cup 2026 ads that are still scoring laughs. Let’s dive in.
1. Nike: Nobody Can Play Like Zlatan
There are few in football or in the world who can match the aura of Zlatan Ibrahimović, as this Nike ad shows us.
The ad opens with Zlatan reminding the audience about what makes him special before sharing the secrets of what makes him stand apart from his peers. No, don’t bother finding what those secrets are– you won’t ever be anything like Zlatan! Just remember not to be boring, and you’ll be fine; at least that’s what Zlatan thinks.
2. Lay’s: Bandwagon
With the FIFA World Cup 2026 bringing football fever to North America, Lay’s took it upon itself to acquaint Americans and other uninitiated souls with the sport by positioning “bandwagon fandom” as a shared consumer experience centred around snacking and social occasions.
The advert opens with Will Ferrell driving a large yellow Lay's-branded truck across the United States, picking up fans and handing out potato chips. Along the way, he comes across cowboys, Marshawn Lynch, and David Beckham– each drawn to the game by their shared love for a packet of Lay’s– except Beckham, of course, who actually understands the sport!
But that’s the point– you don’t need to pass some I-know-every-damn-thing-about-soccer test to enjoy it. Just jump on the bandwagon, grab some chips, and have fun!
3. Lay’s: No Lay’s, No Game
You know you have one hell of a commercial at your disposal if you have managed to rope in David Beckham, Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry, and Alexia Putellas. Throw Steve Carell into the mix, and you have a cracker of an advert.
This Lay’s spot opens with Beckham and others hitting the store after they run out of Lay’s for a house party. Since the store is too crowded, they decide to enlist the help of anyone coming out of the store with a Lay’s packet. The catch? They get invited to Beckham’s place to watch a game of football with them if they are willing to share their Lay’s with the group. Soon enough, they have enough Lay’s and three vans full of people.
Finally, the guy who was supposed to bring Lay’s to the party, Lionel Messi, shows up with more Lay’s as the entire crowd enjoy Steve Carell’s karaoke skills, which have become rather legendary since he demonstrated it in the TV show The Office all those years ago.
4. AXE: The Hand
The Hand has acquired something of a divine status in Argentina’s football history. But even divinity can only help you get so far– unless, of course, you smell amazing.
This funny advert follows a man whose hand turns gigantic after a freak accident. While it’s a nuisance for everyone from the taxi driver to the audience at a movie theatre, his perfume helps him win his girlfriend’s affection. Thanks to AXE, he smelled his best despite looking his worst!
5. Michelob ULTRA: The Superior Match
Any FIFA World Cup spot featuring the likes of Lionel Messi, Lautaro Martínez, Nicolás Paz Martínez, Christian Pulisic, Guillermo Ochoa, and Ronaldo Nazário is always going to be wonderful. However, the cherry on top would be Billy Bob Thornton reprising his role as the crisis manager from the TV show The Landman, as is the case with this Michelob ULTRA commercial.
The ad opens with a luxury hotel lobby turning into an impromptu, high-stakes soccer pitch as Argentinian and American football stars face off in a chaotic, fun battle– all to claim a bucket of ice-cold Michelob ULTRA. As they fight amongst themselves, creating one hell of a mess at the hotel, Thornton arrives, grabs his bottle of ULTRA, and orders more for everyone, throwing the crowd into a frenetic celebratory burst.
Wrapping Up
And that’s a wrap of another #FunnyFridays segment. These hilarious FIFA World Cup 2026 ads prove that brands don’t always have to take the beautiful game too seriously. Sometimes, all it takes is a great cast, a clever idea, and a healthy dose of humour to score with audiences.
So, even if the FIFA World Cup 2026 final is now a distant memory, these ads are still worth a watch. And who knows, maybe next time we’ll get this blog out a little sooner. No promises, though 🙈
We’ll be back with more amazing campaigns for you. Until then, stay tuned!

Honestly, the delay makes this even more fun—it’s a nice little post-World Cup nostalgia trip. Glad these #FunnyFridays ads finally made it out of the backlog!
The mix of star power, playful premises, and unexpected settings makes these World Cup ads memorable long after the final. For creators studying how visual ideas are built from reference footage, a video to prompt workflow like video to prompt can help turn that inspiration into editable prompt ideas.
World Cup ads are sometimes almost as memorable as the matches, especially when brands lean into humor instead of taking everything too seriously. I still remember a tournament commercial that my friends kept quoting weeks later because the joke landed perfectly. One campaign even reminded me of a welcome wagon, with familiar faces, music, and a playful sense of everyone joining the celebration together. Those ads work best for me when they feel entertaining first and promotional second. Revisiting them after the final is actually fun, because without the pressure of the tournament you notice the creative details much more.
