5 Lovely Valentine’s Day 2024 Commercials That Will Make You Go “Awwww"

It’s that time of the year when love fills the air like nothing else! Yup, it’s the Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately, it seems brands don’t seem to share our enthusiasm about this day this year. Why? Well, not too many of them have come up with ad campaigns worth discussing about! Even dating apps like Tinder and Bumble seem to have put their Valentine’s campaign on the backseat this year. At the time of writing this blog, only a handful of good Valentine’s Day ads have been released. Nevertheless, there was no way we would have gone without discussing at least the ones that caught our attention.

So, here we are with 5 amazing Valentine’s Day commercials that seem to have come straight from Cupid’s notebook.

1. Reliance Jewels: The Stronger Half

Men are always stereotyped as the stronger halves in any relationship, which automatically stereotypes women as the weaker partner. Well, not while Reliance Jewels is in charge!

Indian jewelry brand Reliance Jewels came up with a beautiful 40-second spot this Valentine’s that not only celebrated women as “better halves” but also hailed them as the “stronger halves”. The commercial shows a husband freaking out after seeing a lizard in the wardrobe. That’s when his daring wife takes charge- by mocking him🤪

But don’t be beguiled into believing that this is a funny commercial just yet. Because what happens next not only challenges age-old stereotypes of seeing women as “weak” and “dependent” but also lays the foundation for timeless love and mutual respect in any relationship.

2. Teleflora: Believe In Love

Have you ever felt like love isn’t meant for you? You have? Well, you aren’t the only one who’s felt that way at some stage.

Floral wire service company Teleflora came up with a brilliant ad this Valentine’s that sought to encourage people who have given up on the idea of love. The 3-minute spot shows multiple people sharing their experiences about love and why they felt that they would never be able to find their soulmate in this lifetime. But as is often the case with love, we tend to find it in most unexpected places and the people in this ad found love too.

Keep the tissues handy; you might need them when they start telling their partners how they feel about them. It might also raise your spirits. Like I said, love might be just around the corner!

3. Cadbury Philipines: Pop Your Heart Out

Well, there’s no way Cadbury wouldn’t release a Valentine’s Day commercial that wouldn’t sweep you off your feet. They have been doing it year after year, and this year was no exception.

Cadbury Philipines released a 15-second commercial this Valentine’s that shows a boy and girl crossing paths with each other, their eyes lock, and love blossoms- but not before they express it to each other by sharing a Cadbury. Now that’s some good old marketing at play. But that’s not the only old marketing ploy they have deployed this year for Valentine’s.

Cadbury Silk also released a 45-second spot titled “Your Special Moments” this Valentine’s Day. They say hell hath no fury like a miffed girlfriend and this sweet ad relies on some classic “girlfriend appeasement”, except that the ideas are brand new! The ad showcases a young guy coming up with a brilliant idea to convince his sulking girlfriend. Watch the ad to know what the idea was, in case you’ve got an upset girlfriend to cater to!

4. DW Euromaxx: The Average German Relationship

Germans aren’t exactly the most romantic people. No, don’t get all fired up on me; those are Euromaxx reporter Clare Trelawny-Gower’s words from this Valentine’s Day ad.

The ad showcases Clare following the journey of Michael Müller - an average German lad who’s going out on a date with Julia, his coworker. Throughout the ad, Clare shares some numbers about Germans’ dating preferences like refraining from alcohol before a date, choice of meetup venues, the importance of humor (something we have been emphasizing in blog after blog), splitting the bill, and kisses.

Planning to ask a German out this Valentine’s? Maybe you should give this commercial a thorough watch. After all, numbers don’t lie!

5. Cadbury 5 Star: Erase Valentine’s Day

For every hopeless romantic out there, there is someone who hates this day like hell. Why? Probably because they don’t have anyone to celebrate this day with.

This amazing 2-minute commercial shows how a time-travel vessel would help all such people by helping them skip Valentine’s Day. No, don’t get your hopes too high. They won’t send you back in time or to the future to skip this day. What they’d do is get you on this vessel and ship you off to a different time zone so that you can entirely skip the 24 hours that you dread. You don’t believe it? Well, they got the legendary Indian space scientist Nambi Narayanan onboard; there’s got to be some truth in it, right?

Wrapping Up

And that was a wrap of some of the best Valentine’s Day commercials from this year. With most brands either missing from the action or doing a shoddy job at their Valentine’s Day campaign, these commercials serve as a breath of fresh air. Hopefully, we’ll have some more brands coming up with awesome commercials today. In case they do, you know where to find those😎

We’ll be back with more wonderful videos for you. Till then, stay tuned!
