Hi folks, we are back with our weekly edition of China’s Digital Digest, wherein we bring you weekly updates on China’s digital space. The report takes a quick glance at China’s complex and rapidly evolving social media landscape by providing updates on the latest happenings across the social media industry. Here are the major highlights of the report.
1. Alibaba Opens Sign-Ups for Qwen Go!, a Personal Agent That Files Flight-Delay Claims and Refunds
Alibaba is preparing to launch Qwen Go!, a personal agent built into its Qwen app that is meant to carry out everyday tasks on a user's behalf rather than just answer questions. The company has opened applications to try it, with access rolling out in phases ahead of a formal release.

According to IT Home and Leiphone, Qwen Go! can file flight-delay compensation claims, request price-protection refunds on Taobao, arrange car maintenance, book sports venues and compare prices across shops. When needed, it can query and operate the platforms a user has authorized, compare options and even phone service providers to finish a task.
2. 1688 Opens Alibaba's Accio AI Workbench to All Buyers and Factories, Adding a Seller Assistant
1688, Alibaba's digital supply-chain platform for wholesale sourcing, has said that its buyers and source manufacturers can now open Accio, Alibaba's AI workbench for e-commerce, directly. The platform says the change covers more than 100 million annual active buyers and over 1 million source factories.

Buyers can sign in to Accio with their existing 1688 accounts. Sellers download a 1688 seller assistant inside Accio and link their store to start using it. Accio, which says it serves 10 million small and medium-sized businesses worldwide, focuses on the full e-commerce chain, from finding products and stocking up to closing orders, repeat purchases and store operations.
3. Doubao Work Adds an Infinite Creation Canvas With Seedream 5.0 Flash and the Doubao 2.1 Lite Model
Doubao Work has added a creation canvas for complex design work and a lighter model, Doubao 2.1 Lite, for everyday office tasks. The canvas puts source materials, design options and finished output on one infinite page, so users can carry out each step of a project in one place and view, compare and organize results as they go.

After an image is generated, users can keep editing its text, colors and layout, adjusting from overall style down to local details. The canvas is wired to Seedream 5.0 Flash, a new ByteDance image model. In complex creative workflows, the app's agents can start from understanding the request and planning an approach, then produce images, videos and full sets of designs.
4. UK Student Super App ZyMix Faces Data Privacy Questions Over Tencent Links
ZyMix, a messaging and payments app targeting UK university students, has come under scrutiny for its links to Tencent Cloud Europe BV, a subsidiary of Chinese tech giant Tencent, which was added to a US Department of Defense list of Chinese military companies in January 2026.

The app’s original privacy policy identified Tencent as storing user-generated content and messages, but the reference was removed after The Guardian raised questions. ZyMix says Tencent provides auxiliary services for performance testing and that user data is primarily stored in the UK and EU. The company maintains that its app complies with UK data protection and financial regulations.
5. Huawei Introduces App to Connect HarmonyOS Smartphones With Apple Watch
Huawei has introduced the HarmonyOS Galaxy Connect app on Apple’s App Store, enabling compatible Huawei smartphones to connect with Apple Watch and AirPods. Users can receive message and call notifications on their watches and check AirPods battery levels through their phones.

The feature currently supports Huawei’s Pura X View, Mate 90 series and Mate XT 2 Ultimate Design, running HarmonyOS 7.0.0.109 or later. Compatible Apple Watches must run watchOS 10.0 or later. Huawei has also indicated that additional features for the app are in development, although their release timelines have not been announced.
6. WeChatBridge Launches Windows Beta to Connect WeChat Chats With AI Agents
WeChatBridge, an open-source tool, has launched a Windows beta that lets users forward WeChat conversations to AI agents, including OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, WorkBuddy, Doubao and Qwen.
Users can also export conversations as Markdown notes to Obsidian for easier organisation and reference. The tool supports collecting more than 100 messages in batches and allows users to assign specific prompts or skills to individual group chats. This enables AI agents to process selected conversations for different tasks. However, developers advise users to remove sensitive information before sharing chats with third-party AI services.
7. Levi’s Brings ROSÉ Collaboration and Premium Denim to Beijing Pop-Up
Levi’s has brought its travelling denim pop-up to Beijing’s WF Central, following earlier stops in Shanghai and Chengdu. The event features a dedicated display of its collaboration with global brand ambassador ROSÉ, alongside premium collections Levi’s Vintage Clothing and BLUE TAB.
Visitors can personalise denim pieces with Beijing-exclusive designs through embroidery, screen printing and other customisation services. The pop-up also offers denim-making workshops inspired by local folk art, traditional Beijing snacks and drinks from community brand Tiaohai. The event supports Levi’s efforts to expand its womenswear business and strengthen its premium product offering in China.
