1. Meta Commits To Spending $600B on US Projects by 2028
Meta has committed to spending $600 billion in the U.S. over the next three years, as it continues to expand its AI capacity.

Meta says that it’s also driven hundreds of millions in spending on new and updated grid infrastructure, while it’s also minimizing its environmental impact through improved water and energy management approaches. Meta remains under FTC investigation over alleged monopolistic practices, while it’s also set to be impacted by higher social media age restrictions, as well as moves to regulate AI development, and VR experiences.
2. Meta Is Retiring Its Like and Comment Buttons for Third-Party Websites

Meta has announced that it’s deprecating the Facebook Like and Facebook Comment buttons for websites, which enable Facebook interaction via third party platforms. Meta says that it’s retiring these options because their usage has naturally declined as the digital landscape has evolved.
3. TikTok Expands Access to Bulletin Boards for Profiles
TikTok is giving more users access to its new Bulletin Boards feature, which enables brands and creators to share DM-like updates with their most engaged audience members in the app.

Some profiles on TikTok now have a new link to a Bulletin Board, via a tappable icon below the username. Bulletin Boards are a one-to-many messaging option, similar to Instagram’s Broadcast Channels, providing a space for the profile to share text, image, and video updates in short messages. Profile visitors can join the Bulletin Board to get notified of updates from the profile, adding another way for the creator to keep followers updated on key news and info.
4. TikTok Partners With iHeartRadio to Help Creators Branch Into Audio
TikTok and iHeartMedia have launched a new partnership that will help TikTok creators expand their content into audio formats, including podcasts, radio and live events, helping them build a bigger platform for creative expression and monetization through new content opportunities.

TikTok stars will also have the opportunity to gain exposure via TikTok Radio, which, as a bonus for iHeartRadio, might also get younger audiences tuning in to radio content. As the announcement notes, the TikTok Podcast Network will feature up to 25 creator-led shows, and will be run out of co-branded studios in Los Angeles, New York and Atlanta.
5. Snapchat Brings Back 2D Bitmoji in Response to User Demand
Snapchat is bringing back its old-style 2D Bitmoji characters, providing more ways to present your cartoonish depiction in the app.

Bitmoji characters were essentially comic book format, 2D depictions, which were made popular via Bitstrips, custom comics that enabled you to insert your Bitmoji characters into different scenarios. Those did really well on Facebook, before Snapchat acquired Bitstrips in 2016, and made them a Snap only feature. Then in 2021, Snapchat launched 3D Bitmoji, an evolution of the form, which enables more types of interactions with the characters, including digital fashion products.
6. Snapchat Shares Data Into Evolving Grocery Shopping Trends
Snapchat has shared some new research into the latest grocery shopping trends, and how shoppers’ habits are evolving within the food and non-alcoholic beverage space.

The data shows that despite tighter economic conditions, consumers remain open to new products, and are actively engaged in product discovery. Those alternate brands could be lower cost options, but the data shows that people are still willing to try out new products, while health and sustainability considerations are still front of mind for many consumers.
7. X Launches ‘Bangers’ Account To Highlight Top Posts
X has officially launched its new “Bangers” promotion effort, which will reward the best creators in the app with a dedicated “Bangers” badge for the best X posts, based on “authentic interactions,” each month.

The program will recognize the most engaging posts in the app each month, with the creators of each then awarded a special trophy that will be displayed beside their X username. This is somewhat like Instagram’s recently launched “Rings” awards, which provides winning creators with unique profile features to help them stand out, in recognition of their efforts.
8. LinkedIn Launches Integrations To Help Boost Events
LinkedIn is adding some new options to help broadcast and promote your events to a wider audience.

Firstly, LinkedIn will now enable event creators to manage their events via webinar hosting platform ON24, providing more options for running your online event. Now, when creating your event in ON24, you can also launch a LinkedIn event for the same, while you can also run your LinkedIN event ads direct from the platform.
Moreover, users of Cvent can now sync their event data with LinkedIn, making it easier to transfer lead data to your CRM as a result of your event promotions. Also, LinkedIn is now adding lead generation as an objective when running an event ad.
