Black Friday isn’t just a shopping phenomenon– it’s a creative battleground where brands pull out all the stops to win attention, spark emotion, and drive action. Each year, a handful of commercials rise above the noise with clever storytelling, sharp humor, and pitch-perfect targeting.

So, here we are with five standout Black Friday 2025 commercials that didn’t just promote deals– they mastered the art of selling.

1. Amazon: Kids Table

Some choices are as easy as they come. This Amazon Black Friday advert presents one such choice in a rather quirky way.

The ad follows a man who finds himself at a dinner table amidst the grown-ups and children. Now, he has a choice to make– whether to be ‘entertained’ by Uncle Bob’s gripping intestinal tales or shop deals on toys with silly, annoying children. Honestly, I have made my choice, and it’s probably not going to please Uncle Bob!

2. Jumia: Don’t Overdo It!

We tend to lose privileges when we overdo things and take things for granted– unless, of course, it is a Black Friday deal.

African online marketplace Jumia’s Black Friday ad campaign revolves around a woman who brazenly makes demands of her friend. The friend obliges her at first, but soon grows tired of her never-ending requests and starts losing it towards the end.

As I said, people will only tolerate so much—unless it’s Black Friday, in which case all logic goes on sale too.

3. Target: Kris K and Yeti

Target brought back its most valuable ambassador, Kris K, on public demand, and he absolutely kills it in this Black Friday ad.

The ad shows two Target employees watching a mysterious Yeti when all of a sudden, the beast sheds its fur for tinsel, signifying that Black Friday deals are on the way. As the employees watch in awe, Target announces the arrival of its big Black Friday deals, encouraging customers to visit its stores at the earliest.

Here’s another Target Black Friday commercial featuring the much-loved Kris K, in case you want to see more of this handsome hunk. Jeez, I sound gay!

4. Shopify: Small World

Shopify launched a stunner of an ad this Black Friday that throws light on just how the e-commerce platform has helped businesses and customers alike.

The 1-minute spot launched on Instagram shows customers connecting with businesses thousands of miles away and avail the best Black Friday deals– all thanks to Shopify. And they aren’t really exaggerating. The e-commerce brand helped merchants generate record-breaking $14.6 billion in Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales this year. They have got to be doing something right, eh?

5. Walmart: Mt. Crumpit

Some Black Friday ads push deals. Walmart, however, decided to drag The Grinch off a mountain and let him do the talking. Bold strategy– and surprisingly effective.

The ad drops us straight into Mt. Crumpit, where Walton Goggins channels a fabulously grumpy Grinch who wants nothing to do with festive cheer… until he sees Walmart’s Black Friday bargains. Suddenly, the guy who steals Christmas is stealing the show — and maybe a few deals for himself.

From snarky one-liners to delightfully over-the-top chaos in WhoKnewVille, the whole thing plays like a holiday fever dream you definitely want to be part of. Because if a lifelong cynic can be tempted down a snowy cliff for discounts, maybe you and I don’t stand a chance either.

Honestly, if Walmart can convince the Grinch to shop their Black Friday sale, what hope do the rest of us have?

Also, as a bonus, here’s Walmart’s Cyber Monday ad, which isn’t as good as the Black Friday campaign, but you can watch it nevertheless.

Wrapping Up

Black Friday may claim to be all about discounts, but let’s be honest– half the fun lies in the chaos, creativity, and absolute marketing madness brands unleash this time of year. Whether it’s nostalgia, humor, hype, or pure festive delirium, these ads know exactly how to grab attention and swipe a little space in our brains (and maybe our wallets). And if this is the energy we’re getting before the holidays even begin, December is about to be a wild ride!

We’ll be back with more wonderful ad campaigns for you. Till then, stay tuned!
