5 Fan-Turkey-Tastic Thanksgiving 2024 Commercials That Served Holiday Vibes!

In our Thanksgiving 2022 blog, we mentioned how it barely receives any marketing love compared to Black Friday. Well, not only did we not cover Thanksgiving ad campaigns last year, but when we are finally covering the best Thanksgiving 2024 commercials, we are doing it after the Black Friday ads🙈 Do you need bigger proof of Thanksgiving marketing campaigns being the underappreciated elder sibling to the Black Friday adverts?

But while our coverage of blogs might get a bit haphazard at times, we truly understand the importance of Thanksgiving in the advertising world and its role in setting the marketing tone for the long festive season ahead.

So, here we are with 5 feast-worthy Thanksgiving 2024 commercials that set the marketing template for the ongoing holiday season.

1. Publix: Grown-Up Table

Almost every parent has once been requested by their children to allow them at the “grown-ups’ table”. It’s a familiar request they might remember making to their parents on big holiday meals generations ago. Supermarket chain Publix launched a lovely 60-second spot that revolves around this theme.

The ad shows a young boy asking his father if he could join them at the grown-ups’ table for the Thanksgiving dinner and then setting out to prove himself. As guests start arriving for dinner, the boy is shown taking their coats and engaging in household chores like taking rolls to the table, retrieving an extra plate, and buttoning up his denim shirt. The kid is soon rewarded by his father with an approval to sit at the grown-ups’ table.

However, sitting with the grown-ups doesn’t turn out to be as much fun as the boy had imagined as his tablemates continue chattering about adult things. Thankfully, his father comes to his rescue and “requests” him to keep an eye out on the little ones for him, prompting him to take his seat at the kids’ table.

While the advert may seem to lack the emotional punch that is the hallmark of all Publix commercials, the message is straightforward- let kids be kids!

2. Butterball: Frozen Premium Whole Turkey

While turkey and poultry brand Butterball has been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons, including cruelty against turkeys, this 30-second spot tries to shift the highlight towards its latest offering- frozen premium whole turkey.

The ad gives viewers a sneak peek into how to get a beautiful golden-brown Thanksgiving turkey in just two easy steps with its frozen turkey. All you have to do is put the turkey from the freezer in the oven.

Only if Butterball could also solve its turkey-abuse-related issues so easily!

3. Target: Hot Turkey Deals

You might know hot Kris from our blog on the funny Christmas 2024 commercials. Well, it looks like Kris has been putting on his charms even before Target’s Christmas ads started going live.

This Thanksgiving advert by Target shows a woman finding Target’s amazing deals on turkey prices hard to believe. That’s when Kris drops by and asks her if she doesn’t believe in Santa either. However, the woman, who is left dazzled by Kris’ looks, still feels that Target’s deals on turkeys are hotter than Kris.

Well, if anything can beat Kris’ “hotness quotient”, it has got to be exceptionally good!

4. Kroger: Share Your Food, Share Your Heart

Retail company Kroger launched a cute 60-second Thanksgiving spot this year that is sure to tug at everyone’s heartstrings.

The animated advert shows a young boy stumbling upon an old woman, who is spending her holidays all by herself, as everyone around her revels in the festive season with their loved ones. But the real joy of all festivities lies in togetherness, right? So, the boy does something special and heart-touching for the old woman.

Watch the ad to know how the little fellow brightened up the old woman’s holiday season.

5. The Lincoln Project: Thanksgiving Ad

The last advert on this list is by the American pro-democracy organization, The Lincoln Project.

The advert might seem like a rant by this group to some of you. However, the reason why I decided to include it in this blog is because of the group’s commitment to safeguarding the democratic values of America and being thankful to the society that the Americans have created together.

Now, regardless of which side of the political spectrum you are on, the idea of protecting democracy will most likely resonate amongst most quarters. And there could be nothing better than being thankful to those who make the efforts to safeguard these values.
