Brands seemed to be a lot more cautious this year with their April Fool’s Day advertising. Why? Just read the room, duh! With missiles being fired left, right, and centre, pranks aren’t really the top priority for most brands. That having been said, April Fool’s Day has long been a playground for brands to step outside their usual messaging and embrace humor, absurdity, and surprise. In a landscape where audiences are constantly bombarded with content (and these days with bombs, literally), these playful campaigns offer a refreshing break, inviting viewers to laugh, question, and engage.

So, it was a relief to see at least a few brands step up and unleash some of the funniest April Fool’s Day ads and feature in our #FunnyFridays segment– even if that wasn’t their goal. In any case, here we are with 5 hilarious April Fool’s Day 2026 ads that cleverly blurred the line between reality and fiction.

1. Dyson: Dyson Beauty Pet Range

If you have pets, you are going to love this ad. Or maybe not! You see, it all depends on how keen you are on getting made a fool of yourself.

Dyson Beauty took grooming to the next level with a spoof “Dyson Beauty pet range,” extending its high-performance hair technology to cats, dogs, and even horses. If the imagined line-up, from the Airwrap Fur for “chest fluff” to the Airstrait Mane+Tail for show-ready manes, had you wondering if you could actually book an appointment, then congratulations! You have been successfully pranked🤪

But you aren’t alone; the first shot of the dog from behind had me anticipating if it was a girl🙈You see, they got me too🤷

2. Duolingo: Expose the Truant

Language learning app Duolingo was back with its guilt-inducing owl this April Fool’s Day, exposing those who have skipped their lessons, i.e., you!

The video asks the viewer to pause it to see who hasn’t completed their lesson for the day with your dad, your best friend, and certain other random names on the list, including yourself. But no matter how many times you try, the owl will always point at you, so give up already🤦

3. OtterHalf: Find Your Otter Half

Singapore-based marketing agency, OtterHalf, has had enough of being mistaken for a dating platform because of its name.

So, the agency decided to lean in to the confusion this April Fool’s Day and announced a sarcastic pivot from marketing to matchmaking. The agency rolled out a “Find your otter half” quiz that pairs users with aquatic soulmates, from a beaver bestie to daring dolphin– of course, all in the name of giving you a chance to find love (and taking potshots at brand misperceptions).

4. Jetstar: The Solution to the Seat-Recline Debate

For years, passengers have fought over whether or not their seats should be reclined during a flight and by how many degrees. And it looks like Australian low-cost airline Jetstar finally has a solution.

The airline took to Instagram to address this issue with a mischievous carousel post, announcing that all seats would now be permanently fixed at a 75-degree angle.

But if you aren’t satisfied with this amazing idea, you can always request to move your seat back at an additional cost. Honestly, that’s the best thing since sliced bread!

I had no idea that the low-cost airline came with high-level trolling😆

5. Westjet: No Bare Feet Onboard🚫

When it comes to airlines, trolling, or April Fool’s Day ad campaigns, no list is ever going to be complete without WestJet featuring on it. The Canadian airline launched this video on April Fool’s Day, announcing its ban on bare feet on its flights.

I know it’s only a prank, but it wouldn’t hurt to put this into action, dear WestJet! I mean, who in their right mind would enjoy the sight of dirty, smelly, biohazardous, cabin-clearing feet🤮 On a serious note, please keep them covered, folks!

Wrapping Up

And that’s a wrap of yet another #FunnyFridays segment wherein we unearthed some of the most hilarious April Fool’s Day 2026 ads. Even in a year where brands chose to tread carefully, these campaigns prove that humor hasn’t entirely taken a backseat; it has simply evolved to become more self-aware, subtle, and cleverly executed.

And perhaps that’s the real takeaway here. April Fool’s Day advertising doesn’t always need grand, outrageous stunts to make an impact. Sometimes, a smart idea, a relatable insight, and just the right amount of absurdity are enough to spark a laugh and stay memorable.

We’ll be back with insanely funny ads for you. Till then, stay tuned!
