While most Mother’s Day ad campaigns hinge upon the ‘emotional’ and ‘heartwarming’, Father’s Day commercials tend to revolve more around the funny. That’s because most men are like that; usually carefree, often goofy, and almost always funny! And these personality traits often carry forward even after they become fathers – even after they realize that they will now have to shoulder plenty of new responsibilities, which they had no experience with so far.

Call it their coping mechanism or their innate character trait, humor comes naturally to most fathers. That’s exactly why we see so many funny Father’s Day ad campaigns every year. This year was no different as brands launched some of the most rib-tickling adverts. And it would be a shame if we didn’t feature them in our #FunnyFridays segment, wouldn’t it?

So, here we are with 5 hilarious Father’s Day 2025 commercials that totally nailed the dad vibes! Let’s dive in!

1. Durex: Responsible Choice

It takes some next-level creativity to come up with an advert that’s both funny as well as thought-provoking. Global sexual health brand Durex has developed a knack for launching campaigns that are both funny as well as socially conscious and its Father’s Day ad campaign this year is a fine example of that.

Coming to the ad, what’s common between Mister Bate, Wank Sinatra, and Rubber Downey Jr? In case their names didn’t already give it away, they are all abandoned sperm cells, pouring their hearts out after being abandoned by their fathers. While the advert makes the viewers chuckle at the ‘agony’ of these poor abandoned sperms, the ad delivers an important message– skip fatherhood until you are ready.

After all, abandoned sperms are always better than abandoned children!

2. NetFlorist: No Boring Gifts, Please!

I have repeatedly said that Father’s Day doesn’t get half as much limelight as Mother’s Day in the advertising world. But the discrimination doesn’t stop merely in the ad space but also in our homes.

While mothers receive shiny gifts, fathers continue to receive the same old presents, often in the form of socks, ties, and gloves. But South African gifting company NetFlorist is having none of that nonsense this year and has come up with a funny 50-second animated spot urging children to give their dads something nice on Father’s Day.

So, what did you get your dad this Father’s Day🤨

3. Myntra: Father’s Drip

An ideal investment asset is one that offers long-term value, never depreciates, and guarantees high returns year after year. Introducing Myntra’s FD aka Father’s Drip!

A glance at their portfolio would reveal a fashion sense that has remained flatlined since the 90s, shopping skills that depend entirely on sales and discounts, and a pretty non-existent trend awareness that can club sandals with a pair of socks! However, a bit of investment in Father’s Drip can not only lead to high returns but also add exponentially to your father’s overall swagger.

Investment advice- put some money on Father’s Drip and watch your mother swoon over your dad like never before. Could there be a better Father’s Day gift? Hell no!

4. SBI General Insurance: The One Thing Dads Never Say No To

NO! That’s usually the default response by most Asian fathers to most of their children’s shopping demands. But this ad by SBI General Insurance unpacks the layers behind every stern “NO” by fathers.

The ad follows the story of two brothers who have gotten pretty accustomed to their father’s refusal to entertain their wishes from bats and cycles to chips, games, and gadgets. However, their story comes full circle when their father’s “No” turns into a thoughtful “Yes” as he helps secure their future with health insurance.

Cheers to the dads who say NO a hundred times just to say YES to what truly matters!

5. Instamart: Daddy’s Wallet

For fathers, a wallet isn’t merely a place to stash their cash; it’s a museum of memories. And their children get so used to watching their dads treasure their overstuffed wallets that they become permanent members of the family. This 80-second spot by instant delivery platform Instamart offers a new take on the traditional dad wallet and blends humor with nostalgia.

The ad focuses on a teenage son’s outburst at the importance his father gives to his wallet. The ad explores how the wallet holds everything from metro cards and love letters to the business card of his family astrologer, except space for some of his party money. But the young lad has had enough and orders a new wallet from Instamart to reclaim his ‘old dad’ who had lately become a custodian of expired IDs.

Is your dad’s wallet also getting too close to your old man? Maybe it’s time to get rid of it!,

Wrapping Up

And that was a wrap of another #FunnyFridays segment, featuring some of the most hilarious Father’s Day 2025 commercials. Although comedy remains a difficult genre for most advertisers, the fun nature of Father’s Day surely helps marketers land the humor punch. The ads covered in this blog bear a clear testimony to that.

We’ll be back with more amazing ad campaigns for you. Till then, stay tuned!
