So, you thought Mother’s Day commercials were all about showing and celebrating the caring and loving nature of moms with a dash of emotional touch to them? Well, think again! Mothers, just like everyone else, have multiple sides to them and humor happens to be one of those facets. And when mom humor takes center stage, all other forms of humor become redundant. In today’s #FunnyFridays segment, we decided to give you a glimpse of just how goofy and fun-loving our mothers can be.

So, here are 5 hilarious Mother’s Day 2025 commercials that nailed the mom humor.

1. Duolingo: It’s Okay to Dislike Your Baby

Yeah, you read that correctly! Language learning app Duolingo has launched a 15-second spot this Mother’s Day, which tells mothers that it’s okay to dislike their baby.

While it’s certainly not the best advertisement for Mother’s Day, Duolingo’s appeal has got a point. I mean, if your babies can’t speak any language, are disinterested in learning, and have zero ideas about music or math, there isn’t much reason to like them anyway! So, you can forget your baby just like Duolingo seems to have forgotten that this was supposed to be a Mother’s Day commercial and not an April Fool’s Day ad campaign!

2. NetFlorist: MILF

Is your mother a MILF? Before you start baying for my blood, watch this advert by the American flower delivery company NetFlorist, which has come up with a whole new full-form for the term MILF.

So, according to NetFlorist, the M stands for the meals that mothers prepare, the I stands for the invaluable support that they provide their children whenever required, the L stands for the lunches, lifts, and love showered upon children by their mothers, and F stands for their forever commitment to love and care towards their children.

Damn, my mother’s a MILF too😅

3. Myntra: It's a Maa Thing

Getting the perfect Mother’s Day gift can be a Herculean task especially if your mother is as fastidious as Neena Gupta.

Indian e-commerce brand Myntra launched this funny 80-second spot featuring the Indian actress and single mother Neena Gupta, along with her daughter Masaba, who is at her wit’s end trying to find the perfect gift for her mother. From toasters and ripe mangoes to popcorn and a gym instructor, nothing seems to please the drama-queen Neena. Thankfully, the various offers and the plethora of choices offered by Myntra finally grab her attention, bringing an end to her daughter’s relentless pursuit of the ideal Mother’s Day gift.

4. Himalaya BabyCare: Strength of Love

People without children often fail to realize how difficult it is to raise children, especially during their initial years. This lovely spot by the baby wellness brand Himalaya BabyCare demonstrates this and the need for a bit of empathy toward new parents in a fun way.

The ad opens in a reality show setting wherein participants are woken up every once in a while from their sleep and asked to perform certain tasks before they can go back to sleep. This continues through the night and most participants want to quit the next morning. That’s when new mothers walk in with their kids and everyone realizes just how challenging it is to get a proper sleep with infants in the house.

While I am all for Mother’s Day, I am not sure if I want to have kids after watching this ad!

5. DoorDash: Don’t Ask Mom. Ask DoorDad.

If the previous advert made you wonder just how difficult the initial years are for parents, this advert will almost certainly assure you that it doesn’t get any easier later; if anything it only gets worse for mothers.

This funny 50-second spot by the U.S.-based online food delivery and logistics platform DoorDash introduces the brand as DoorDad to give mothers a break from their hectic lives. And as soon as the woman in the advert finishes explaining DoorDad and everything it can help users with, her son yells out to her.

Honestly, I’m not too sure if DoorDad is a great idea. As much as I love my dad, I know he’s just another baby without mom on our side🤪
