5 Notable Black Friday 2024 Commercials That Won Over Every Shopper!

We are a week late with this blog but when has the Black Friday shopping frenzy ever been limited to just a day? Brands start dishing out Black Friday ad campaigns days in advance and shoppers rave about all the amazing Black Friday deals long after the shopping period. Hence, a roundup of the best Black Friday 2024 commercials, albeit a delayed one, was in order.

So, here we are with the 5 most noteworthy Black Friday ad campaigns from this year that redefined the shopping frenzy.

1. Walmart: Sister, Swindler

I have always said that no rivalry can beat the intensity of one between siblings and this Walmart commercial featuring Lisa Rinna in a dual role only proves that further.

This 3-minute advert, which is a part of Walmart’s Deals of Desire ad campaign for the 2024 Black Friday, shows actor Lisa Rinna being pleasantly surprised when she comes face to face with a lookalike with cuter shoes! The woman, who claims to be her twin sister, is in fact a swindler who is after Lisa’s lottery money. And also, she’s a vampire!

2. Target: Kris’ Treecep Curls

As you might already know, Target has released a series of ad campaigns this year featuring a modern-day charming version of Santa Claus disguised as a store employee called Kris. And boy, Kris is built like a tank!

So, it isn’t surprising to see Santa aka Kris doing some bicep curls, except that he is doing it with an Xmas tree. Upon being asked by his colleagues why he is exercising with a tree, Kris says he is doing some “treecep” curls and almost spills the beans on his full-time role as Santa before covering it up with some last-minute speech improvisation.

Thanks to those wonderful Black Friday deals, nobody paid much attention to Kris and his ‘Santa’ business.

3. Macy’s: Gift Guide

Popular department store chain Macy’s released a simple yet effective Black Friday advert, which conveyed its commitment to serving its customers throughout the shopping season, 24/7.

The ad shows a Macy’s employee waking up hurriedly as he rushes to the store worried that he might have slept through Black Friday. However, Macy’s Gift Guide assures him she would never let him miss Black Friday. Upon being asked if she would like a break, she says that the Gift Guide never sleeps but faces the camera and accepts that she is actually very tired.

Well, now that the Black Friday shopping is over, I hope the poor lady is finally getting some sleep!

4. Amazon: Patisserie

Show me a 15-second spot that is compelling, effective, and effortlessly prompts the customer to take action. Honestly, I can’t think beyond this Amazon Black Friday advert.

The ad shows a guy standing outside a cake and pastry shop in a queue waiting for his turn to get inside the shop and make the purchase. However, an Amazon notification on his phone about Black Friday deals encourages him to purchase a stand mixer instead of the readymade pastries.

Now, that’s a smart deal!

5. Walmart: Football & Foils

And here’s the last advert on this list and it’s again one from Walmart’s 2024 Deals of Desire campaign.

The ad shows a football coach giving his team a pep talk in the locker room before an important game. The coach’s formula for lifting their spirits is to liken their ideal game plan to that of Walmart’s marketing campaign, wherein they have to change and adapt if they want to win. The young lads are so inspired by the coach’s ‘Walmart’ speech that when he gets them in the huddle and shouts what they will do, everyone shouts “win” in response, except one guy who says “shop”.
