1. Meta Will Soon Enable Advertisers To Test Experimental AI Features
Meta is developing a new program that will enable advertisers to gain access to its experimental AI ad features ahead of time, in order to contribute to external testing of these tools.

As outlined by Meta, its new “Early Release” program will enable a select group of advertisers to try out new generative AI creative features before they’re broadly rolled out. So advertisers in this program will be able to try out the latest Advantage+ tools and creative options to build their Facebook, Instagram, and Threads ads.
2. TikTok Adds New Option To Animate Still Images With AI
TikTok is launching a new AI-powered feature that’ll enable you to turn any static image into a video clip via your TikTok Story.

TikTok’s new “AI Alive” option will digitally animate your static images, turning them into videos based on your image source. TikTok says that AI Alive, available within TikTok’s Story Camera, will use “intelligent editing tools” to transform static images into “captivating, short-form videos enhanced with movement, atmospheric and creative effects.”
3. TikTok Announces Expanded Mental Health Support, Including Meditation Prompts In-App
TikTok is looking to help you remain in a healthy frame of mind, with in-app guided meditation, and expanded support for mental health services, which will enable more users to get assistance as required via the app.

TikTok is rolling out a new guided meditation feature, which will take you through the meditation process in-app. TikTok’s guided meditation will display animated on-screen prompts that you can follow along with, helping to regulate your breathing, and calm your mind. The new function will be built into TikTok’s sleep prompts, helping users take a break from the app.
4. TikTok Announces Exclusive Content Partnerships for Cannes Film Festival 2025
TikTok has announced that it’s once again partnering with the Cannes Film Festival in 2025, this time as an official sponsor, which will grant TikTok exclusive access to a range of Cannes events and content.

And TikTok will be sharing that content with its users, via an in-app Cannes Film Festival hub, where it will highlight all the latest news and clips from the event. TikTok is also partnering with a range of creators who will be in attendance at Cannes, and will share their insights from the event.
5. TikTok Adds More Accessibility Features, Including Alt Text for Photos
TikTok is expanding its alt-text options to photo posts, which will enable creators to add alt text during upload or after publishing. Users will now be able to add text descriptions to their image posts, improving accessibility.

The feature was first spotted in testing last month, but it hasn’t been officially confirmed till now. For videos, TikTok also provides auto-generated captions for video clips, along with text-to-speech. TikTok has also added an option to increase the color contrast with the color contrast switch.
6. Snapchat Launches New Report Series Looking at Gen Z in India
Snapchat has partnered with The Economic Times on a new report into Gen Z trends in India, which will include ongoing editions and updates to share key insights into various aspects of young user engagement in the nation.

Using data insights from Kantar, the report will include a range of data notes and pointers on India’s Gen Z audience. The full report, which will be released in segments, will include comparative charts and specific focus overviews. There’s also a summary of key Gen Z approaches, capturing the general feel of this cohort.
7. Pinterest Confirms Erroneous Removals of Many Accounts
Pinterest has now publicly apologized for the wave of moderation issues that have swept across the social network over the past few weeks, leading to account bans and Pin removals that users said were unwarranted.

In posts published to social media, the company took responsibility for the issue, saying that an “internal error” led to some users’ accounts mistakenly being deactivated. The company didn’t share more details about what caused the error, though many have wondered if the bans were driven by an overreliance on AI-powered moderation.
8. X Launches Updated Link Previews and CTAs for Sales Objective Ads

X has updated its website card display for in-stream ads, with a text bar, and a custom CTA button along the bottom of the ad, in order to help drive more clicks.

X’s updated ad format, which is now available for ads using the “Sales” objective, will now display the headline and CTA button along the bottom of the main image, creating a more distinctive look. According to X, Headlines will now appear below your images or videos, accompanied by a distinct, customizable Call to Action button to enhance your campaigns.
9. X Rolls Out Support for 4K Video Uploads
X has officially announced that 4k video uploads are now supported in the app. So now, you’ll have more options when presenting your video clips on X, which could help you reach a wider audience, and gain more traction with your uploads.

Selected creators were actually given the capacity to upload 4k clips last month, but now, X has expanded that to all X Premium subscribers. X has been developing 4k support for some time, with Musk originally noting that it was coming as part of his broader “everything app” plan in 2023.
10. LinkedIn Faces Job Cuts as Microsoft Rationalizes Costs
LinkedIn is facing more job cuts, with parent company Microsoft announcing that it’s culling around 6,000 roles, or 3% of its global workforce, to “reduce management layers.”

This comes after Microsoft posted a better-than-expected $25.8 billion in the most recent quarter, with LinkedIn seeing a 7% increase in revenue year-over-year. So it’s not due to performance concerns, as such, but the view is that Microsoft can slim down its management structure, and improve efficiency, as well as the bottom line.
